Is Tattoo Art?

Did you know that if you have tattoos on your body, you cannot even go to a gym to work out in Japan.

Although we have tattoo cultures in Japan, it is not accepted in the society because people assume whoever having tattoos are YAKUZA (which is a Japanese gang.)

Here in the US, tattoo is a part of culture and fashion, same as in Japan.
However, the society does not accept tattoos yet.

I have a friend who has a little tiny tattoos on her.
When she went to a gym to work out, she was told to leave because of her tattoos.

HOW LAME!!!!!

Is having tattoo that bad!?

This book has a lot of pictures of Japanese edge and traditional tattoos.

You can see slight differences between American tattoo designs and Japanese ones.
You might start thinking to have a Japanese style tattoo on you.
However, remember this.
If you are planning to go to either hot springs or gyms in Japan, you should not have tattoos on you because you might be kicked out like my friend did!

'If you want the tattoo book, shop at Tokyo Samurai
